What we believe.png

Statement of Faith

We believe in the One true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Dt 6:4, 1 Cor 8:6, Jn 10:30, 1 Jn 5:7)

We believe the Bible is the infallible, sacred, and inspired Word of God.  We believe God’s Word is alive and active and that all of it is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. (2 Pt 1:20-21, Heb 4:12, 2 Tm 3:16)

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. We believe He is the Word incarnate.  We believe He was made flesh, born a virgin birth, and dwelt among us.  We believe He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and that the chastisement for our peace was upon Him. We believe by His stripes we are healed.  We believe He died for our sins, was buried, and He rose again on the third day.  We believe Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and intercedes for us. (Jn 1:14, Mt 1:23-25, Is 53:5, 1 Cor 15:3-4, Rom 8:34)

We believe God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. We believe Jesus is the only way, truth, and life and that no one can come to the Father except through Him. We believe it is God’s will that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We believe if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  (Jn 3:16, Jn 14:6, 2 Pt 3:9, Rom 10:9)

We believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Helper, sent from the Father in Jesus’ name.  We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in each Christian, teaches us all things, and brings to remembrance the words of Christ.  The Holy Spirit bears witness that we are children of God. We believe the Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to each believer individually, as He wills, and that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. (Jn 15:26; Jn 16:7; Jn 14:17, 26; 1 Cor 12:7-11)

We believe what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by human sin nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.  We believe Jesus Christ came not to abolish, but to fulfill the law's requirements on our behalf, thereby reconciling us to God.  We believe we are righteous not by our own works, but by faith in Jesus as our Savior. We believe we are under a new covenant in which God's law is written on our hearts.  Jesus Christ is the mediator of this new covenant.  We believe there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk according to the Spirit. (Rom 8:3-4, Rom 10:3-4, Mt 5:17, Col 1:20-22, Jer 31: 31-34, Heb 12:24, Rom 8:1)

We believe just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, that as believers in Him, we too, are risen with Christ to newness of life.  We believe if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away and all things have become new. (Eph 2:5-6, Rom 6:4, 2 Cor 5:17, Rom 8:9-11)

We believe in Jesus Christ we are adopted as sons and daughters of the most High God, and as such, we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.  As His children, we are inheritors of exceedingly great and precious promises. We believe the inheritance that is ours in Jesus is one that will never fade away. (Eph 1:5, 1 Pt 2:9, 2 Pt 1:4, 1 Pt 1:4)

We believe that by one Spirit we, the church, were all baptized into one body and that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.  We believe the Church is called by Jesus to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” with signs and wonders following those who believe. (2 Cor 5:19-20; 1 Cor 12:13, 25; Mk 16:15-18)
